Tras darse a conocer que esta edición de certamen tendrá lugar de manera 100% digital, Cannes Lions ha dado a conocer los miembros de los distintos Jurados, que analizarán y premiarán entre el 21 y el 25 de junio el trabajo de la comunidad creativa internacional.
Nike, Google, Netflix, Uber o Twitter son algunas de las compañías representadas en los jurados
Alineándose con una experiencia virtual, Cannes Lions 2021 contará con la representación más alta de marcas globales (Nike, Diageo, Ikea, KFC, Uber, ByteDance), plataformas y empresas de entretenimiento (Netflix, Disney+, Twitch, Spotify) y compañías tecnológicas (Google, Facebook, Twitter) hasta la fecha.
Asimismo, esta edición disfrutará de un alto ratio de paridad, puesto que por primera vez en la historia de estos galardones, las mujeres representarán el 51% de los miembros del jurado, frente al 48% de 2019. En este sentido, Simon Cook, Managing Director de Lions, asegura que la selección de los miembros de los jurados representa a escala completa la industria publicitaria. "Cada año, nuestros jurados se vuelven más diversos, lo cual es parte de nuestro compromiso por designar talentos sobresalientes de toda nuestra comunidad global", ha comentado en un comunicado.
Entre las muchas redes de agencias globales representadas en los Jurados destaca la presencia de McCann, Ogilvy, Publicis, BBDO, VMLY&R y Dentsu. No obstante, entre los miembros se incluyen representantes de agencias especializadas e independientes como Quiet Storm, Above & Beyond, Stink Studios, Futerra y Tech and Soul.

La edición de 2021 supone el regreso de los premios, después de pausarse durante 2020 debido a la pandemia. "Nuestros jurados premiarán con los Leones a dos años de trabajo, lo que es una oportunidad sin precedentes para establecer el punto de referencia creativo mundial durante dos años de creatividad excepcional”, ha señalado Philip Thomas, Chairman de Lions.
Los jurados llevarán a cabo la evaluación de los casos presentados de forma remota, a través de una plataforma que, según explican desde la organización, ha sido diseñada para garantizar que se defienda el valor y la integridad del León. "Estamos comprometidos con ofrecer una experiencia de evaluación que permita a los miembros del jurado hacer su trabajo sin obstáculos y, fundamentalmente, queremos que cada trabajo creativo reciba el tiempo y la discusión que se merece", ha comentado Susie Walker, Head of Awards de Lions.
La presencia española en Cannes Lions 2021
El sector español, como cada año, tendrá cabida en esta edición de los preciados galardones, con presencia tanto de agencias multinacionales como independientes. Tal y como indican desde Scopen, con aún 5 jurados pendientes de decisión, España podría llegar a sumar un total de 12 miembros españoles en el jurado. Esta cifra convertiría a la edición 2021 en la tercera con más representación de nuestro país (en 2012 fueron 15 y en 2015, 13).

"Me hace muchísima ilusión poder formar parte de un Jurado Internacional como este y concretamente de Radio & Audio, una de las categorías con más recorrido hoy en día", ha comentado en un comunicado remitido a medios.
